Shadow is an independent 2D animated short film created during my graduate studies at UCA, employing a combination of traditional frame-by-frame animation and digital painting techniques.
The film portrays a story of a monster born from shadows hunting humans in a small town through a boy’s dreams, aiming to discuss an evasive psychological state towards confronting one’s inner darkness. People in the story prefer to forsake living in the colorful real world, opting instead to maintain their seemingly pure identities.

Introduction
In daily life, shadows are both familiar and unfamiliar companions to many. Gradually, they have become a potent creative element in artistic works. Carl Jung interpreted shadows as another side of human nature. When facing others, people often conceal traits they deem undesirable. Through this short film, I hope to provoke some reflection on whether we are becoming the very person we dislike but are unwilling to confront.
